I am from Portugal and the Iphone 4 isnt released here yet so is it possible for the Iphone 4 to work here in Portugal and How? Mas depois de comprar o que se faz?

You must make sure that the carrier you want to use on your IPhone with, use GSM technology. I believe the IPhone is a world phone, but most carriers works on 850, 1900mhz. If the carrier you are planning to use works on CDMA, the it won't work. Also, the IPhone must be jailbreak (unlocked).

The phone will work as far as AT&T being GSM which (I believe) is what is also used in Portugal. You will need to contact your cellphone provider there to see if they have the capability of activating this on their network there. I have absolutely no idea on the systems they are using. Here, even if a phone is available on multiple networks, it is extremely difficult to get one carrier to activate a like-model phone that was manufactured for a different service provider. So from a technical point of view, the phone will work in Portugal; it now depends on whether or not your service provider can and will support you in this endeavor and activate it for you.

Yes. The iPhone 4 can already work in Portugual. But in the interest of saving money & for it to work on local carriers, it'll have to be unlocked. The iPhone 4 is available unlocked from Canada, France & the UK but you'll have to have a contact in one of those countries in order to get it, since it can not be purchased from outside of said country.

In many countries you can buy the iPhone with or without a subscription. Needless to say that the ones WITH a subscription are mosty locked; this means you will have to unlock/disconnect them (you can have this done for approx. 30 euro). If you buy without subscription, the iPhone 4 is much more expensive, easily up to 740 euro for the 32GB model. Also, in most countries they are sold out. In Singapore and Hong Kong they are the cheapest; approx. 600 euro for the 32GB model. The warranty (guarantee) for iPhone is NOT worldwide, only for the country you bought it in. The iPhone definitely works in Portugal with all GSM networks, you do need a micro-sim from your local provider though!!!
