leaving in Portugal for a couple years

leaving in Portugal for a couple years?
I would like to leave in Portugal for a couple years, but I was wondering if I would be able to be live, study and work legally. I know that in the U.S in order to immigrate or be an international student one has to be wealthy. I'm not rich, but I'm not scared to work in order to accomplish my goals. I was born in Brazil. I know that Brazil is not part of the European Union, but if Portugal has any sort of relations granting Brazilian citizens to live, work and study legally in the country. thank you

Do you understand portuguese? If you don`t please tell me by mail.

... that socialists in those countries will penalize people that do well and reward people that do poorly with income redistribution? Haven't the citizens in those countries been taught that they will be penalized if they work hard and rewarded if they slack off --- just like Dems like to force upon Americans? (math scores are obviously for kids in school) --- source: WSJ p 5 today. 40 countries are ranked and those almost bankrupt countries (along with Ireland) are close to the bottom of the list

I didn't do good in algebra either. Who gives a sh*t.

I'm not. I never believed the liberal myth that European countries were somehow "smarter" than the US because they relied heavily on socialism. The US is still the bees' knees baby!

it did not used to be that way

As opposed to the United States, where you are taught if your talent doesnt pay, its not worth studying. Thats probably why the United States cant manage to crack the top 10 in reading comprehension, and why it barely cracks the top 25 in math http://nces.ed.gov/pubs2011/2011004_1.pdf. Those with high literacy or good math skills are not as likely rewarded as some one who owns some property, can dunk a basketball, or can trade stocks. This has pushed most of our brightest in to Wall Street, not the lab. That is exactly why the US no longer sits alone or even at the top in most technology and engineering. By the way most of the countries that rank over the US are heavily socialized, like France, Finland, Norway Canada, Netherlands, etc.

Italy is not ruled by socialists but by conservatives, so you should better know what are you talking about before opening your mouth.
