Does Portugal accept american visa gift cards?
wondering if I buy Visa gift cards in United States if they will work in Portugal?

You need to ask VISA that question before buying the cards.

" Can I use my Visa Gift card outside of the United States? If your gift card states Valid only in the United States on the front, your issuer has issued a Domestic Use Only card. Although your gift card will not be accepted at locations outside of the United States, it's welcome at millions of locations within the U.S. where Visa Debit cards are accepted. " I've seen those types of cards around here, I'm just not 100% sure if they were VISA . Ask that question at the customer service, they should be able to tell you for sure.

Is there any environmenttalist group in portugal?
Is there any environmentalist group in portugal?but some that really takes acct ion and get stuff done? or any international group that works with portugal and putt them on field?

oh yes Quercus (the most well known), Os Verdes (a political party linked to the communist party), and ... sorry i don't know the rest! but wait, there's someone that can help you... wait... EDIT: Give Pérola the 10 points, please! She deserves that, because she contributes to a BETTER and CLEANER WORLD! (besides that she is a fantastic person!)

I hope not by God sake, you have any idea how much damage they can cause to any country economy? We have All Gore but he has been very quietly lately,Perhaps the Portuguese government would be considering to take him? Wait!... Nancy Pelosi, we could spare Nancy Pelosi.

Hi! José game this link so here we go: there are a few environmental organizations in Portugal, the list below have more than 100 organizations, the most important one is Quercus (as José mentioned). There is also Greenpeace Portugal (I´m a member and more I´m an activist) and WWF-Portugal (I´m also a member) among others. Portugal is very concerned about environmetal issues, we had our rivers so polluted by the spanish that until a few years ago had no care about the environment. does Visa electron card from Portugal would work in Canada
does Visa electron card from Portugal would work in Canada???
or is it better take cash and exchange it there???

most visas will work world wide. Check on the back of the card....if you see a cirrus symbol you're good. Also check your Bank Card for cirrus, they can be used everywhere, and will automatically convert for exchange rates....though be carefull, usually it is a % or flat fee charge per use

The visa card should work no problems I don't know if Portugal uses the "chip & pin" as the UK does so the card will be read and a receipt that you will have to sign is produced. When my partner and I travel we purchase travellers cheques and she takes half and I the other half and cash them as needed. You can also use your ATM card in Canada just ask your bank for details.

If the card is considered a "credit card" that is authorized by VISA, it should work fine. In Canada, we swipe the card's magnetic strip through a card reader and the card's number and transaction authorization code is printed on a receipt. The merchant will ask you to sign one copy and will retain that for their records. You will be given a second copy for your records. If the card is actually some sort of debit card, it may work in the bank ATM system here as long as it is part of the CIRRUS or PLUS network.

want to move to portugal and work
want to move to portugal and work?
hi my girlfriend and i along with out baby are hoping to move to portugal next year january. (her family are from portugal / Lisbon) where we are hoping to move to. i just need some information on how to get a job beause i have a tour representative in mind but the money isnt very good and have to be away from home to much. we have accomodation sorted so thats ok. i just need some links or hope lol! thanks

first learn the language, is very important. I don't know what you can do so I can't answer the job part. you can talk to a travel agency in the US to get tourists and you be a touristic guide, there's so much to see in Lisbon that you wouldn't be far from home. Just an idea since I saw that been done by a British couple. Good Luck.

You are off to a good start as you have both family there for support and somewhere to stay. Don't expect great money, where we are the average monthly wage is €600. For jobs, contact the main tour operators in Lisbon and ask on expat forums where you will get advice from those who have been in the same position. Good luck.
