I am so scared of making mistakes at work! how do I cope with this

I am so scared of making mistakes at work! how do I cope with this?
We are in rough economic times (especially here in Portugal). I got a job and I am so sacred of making a mistake. Once I made one and my supervisor humiliated me in front of everyone! I am so scared! I triple check my work and still I don't think its enough! How do I deal with this? Thanks!

Hey, You are already doing a great job checking and double checking. If you are still afraid making mistakes maybe you can read up on the subject regards your work so you learn a bit more or maybe come in on a free day to practice. keep on looking after yourself. Over time you will make less and less mistakes. Also try to make many friends at work. Its much harder for a manager to single you out if you know a lot of people.

You can apply for the visa at your country of residence or at your home country. For the visa application you must show an appropriate flight reservation. Should you plan to travel from India you would need to show such flight reservation and also show a departure flight reservation, either to India or to Dubai. If you plan to book a flight via London, United Kingdom you would also need to get a British Direct Airside Transit Visa although you stay in the international transit zone of the airport. Should you transit through other Schengen countries (Belgium, France, the Netherlands, or Spain) you will need to enter the country you arrive first in column 23. of the visa application since you would need to clear immigration in that country and proceed on to Portugal on a Schengen domestic flight without immigration controls. The visa application can be made up to three months prior to the planned travel date. The application in the United Arab Emirates must be addressed to the Embassy of Spain in Abu Dhabi which acts in behalf of Portugal for visa applications. http://www.maec.es/subwebs/Embajadas/AbuDhabi/es/MenuPpal/ingles/Consular/Visas/Paginas/visas.aspx .. An application from India must be addressed to the Portuguese Embassy in New Delhi through their commercial VFS application centre or the Portuguese Consulate General in Goa: http://www.embportindia.co.in/html/consular.html ..

I called the Consulate General in NYC, but nobody answered. I am in Albany, NY. I am traveling to Portugal for a conference in the first week of Sept, 2009. Any info will be helpful. (I am planning to go directly to the consulate general in a week if nothing else works .)

Portugal is the Schengen country with the poorest online information about visa application. In general the requirements for a Schengen visa are similar however there may be local peculiarities which differ from country to country. Required documentation: • Schengen visa application form duly completed and signed by the applicant • two passport type photographs [35x45mm], in color and plain background • passport, valid for at least three months beyond the proposed stay • document evidence of the purpose of travel [statement of your studying institute; invitation of the Portuguese institute] • proof of the conditions of accommodation [hotel reservation] • proof of sufficient funds [bank statements]; at least €74.82 [~$110] plus €39.90 [~$59] per day of stay. • proof of travel health insurance which covers the costs arising from a repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or urgent hospital treatment, valid for the entire Schengen zone; the minimum coverage is €30,000 [$45,000]. For detailed requirements you should try to call during their [redicolous] operation hours or send an e-mail; alternately you could try to get information from the Newark consulate. New York Consul-General: Alexandre Manuel Galvão Mexia de Almeida Fernandes 590 Fifth Ave. - 3rd Floor New York, NY 10036 United States of America Opening hours: from 10 am to 2 pm Telephone: 1 212-221 31 65 Fax: 1 212-221 34 62 E-mail: mail@cgnyk.dgaccp.pt Newark Consul-General: Francisco Carlos Duarte Azevedo The Legal Center At one Riverfront Plaza, Main Floor Newark, New Jersey 07102-5414 United States of America Opening hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am to 1pm; Wednesday from 9 am to 5 pm Telephone: 1 973 643 4200 Fax: 1 973 643 39 00 E-mail: mail@cnnew.dgaccp.pt Edit: @Surbhi: Based on your answer I can tell you that you may apply up to three months before you plan to travel [common Schengen procedure]. Representatives of Portugal which issue visa are located at Washington D.C., Boston, Newark, New Bedford, New York, San Francisco, and Providence.

Hi Naveen, I am also an Indian passport holder with F1 visa. I need to go to Portugal for a conference in first week of Oct'09. It will be great if you can share any information you have with me. I am located at Kansas. I can't visit the consulate and calling them is'nt working. My main concern was if they have some deadline on the number of days in advance you need to apply before the visiting. Please, let me know if you have any information on this. Thanks :)

It is difficult to find work there. Japan, like most countries does not allow foreigners (Gi genes) to work in their country unless the job is needed and a Japanese isn't trained or qualified in that task and they have determined for some other reason it is good for the country to have you. They keep their unemployment very low and try to make sure everyone possible has a job. They are not mean, they are just overcrowded and need to protect their peoples jobs. Japan is a very small country with a large population.
