The EU and the USA's respective budget policies are not connected. Spain and the UK actually have a lower public debt / GDP than the USA. You can't just use a grossly oversimplified comparison like this and expect it to mean something. It's easy to cherry pick individual small countries and pretend that it means something about the USA. Watch. Ready? Denmark has a lower public debt than the USA does, but it has very generous public welfare benefits, universal health care, inexpensive universities, and lower crime. Funny how that works isn't it? Aren't conservatives the ones who always tell us that things that work in Europe can't work in the USA? You guys have really short memories.

Nope. Sorry but just because something has been proved not work time and time again does not mean that we won't try it to just to see what it feels like. I find it funny that liberals swear by science and math and yet they don't apply that same logic to political structures. Every socialist style of government on the planet has failed in it attempts for equality. Statically speaking you have to draw the conclusion that those types of governments don't work.

And why didn't Reagan, Bush Sr, or Bush Jr reign in spending since each created at the time record government spending and federal deficit levels? Oh that was Republican spending so it was OK. I see. Fact is the unprecedented and reckless spending of those 3 Republican presidents are a major reason we're in the mess we are now. Yes the spending so far under Obama is bad but I see he had little choice considering the economic, military, and social messes he was left to recover from.

Don't we always do things better in the good ole USA? And, just today Grayson was trying to pass a bill for a budgeting committee. The dems voted for it 2 to 1 over the Republicans. I'm surprised they just didn't walk away and not participate. They won't join the game until they are made captain. Sore losers.

The Obama administration knows full well that it's policies are crippling our economy. They just don't care. Saving the economy is not part of their agenda. Their agenda is to create such a crisis that the only perceived solution will be for the government to take over everything. He will never accomplish his objectives while the people are in power. The government must 1st have control.

No they will not reign in the spending, they want to raise our taxes so that they can continue to spend more. They look at the problems in Europe and say we are smarter than they are, that can't happen here, but in reality what is happening in Europe is what they want to happen here. They don't want to let a good crisis go to waste, The Left wants to create a crisis so that they can take our freedoms away. There is a bill in Congress that they want to pass that gives Obama the power to shut down the internet in the event of a crisis, but there is no definition as what that crisis has to contain, any little thing could be called a crisis. Because you and I are not as smart as they are when it comes to running our everyday lives. They know better as what we need to do to take care of ourselves.

were already in historic debt and we have already passed bills that will only drive that debt up so it is a little late to worry about spending and debts because we are on the same road as Europe the only difference is our economy was better when the hard times hit so it will take us a little longer to get to the cliff. but do not worry it is fast approaching and our breaks are quickly wearing out.

It is a difficult balancing act to reduce spending and keep the economic recovery alive. We'll just have to see how they do in the next couple of years.

No, I can't speak for all democrats only for myself. I do not believe in creating success or failure on history or what anyone else is doing. I like the way the money has been invested into people in this country. The money that is spent on war did not start with any decision Obama made so her really did inherit that drain. Bush really left the country with jobs just tumbling down. It is going to get much worst cause many people who have lost jobs are now eventually going to lose the unemployment payments they have been getting. It would be nice if employers were investigated & fined for hiring illigal immigrants & Americans citizens would be paid as well as illigals have been paid to do the work they were doing. To constantly act like everything Obama is doing is wrong is a sign of brainwashing & is starting to make me tune out.
